BIOGRAPHY
Authenticity in Country Rock comes naturally when you were raised in the red dirt and born with the finesse of a cowgirl. With a voice that has the grit and soul of Carrie Underwood and the richness of Stevie Nicks comes Tory Rae, a singer-songwriter hailing from the plains of Western Oklahoma. Growing up while traveling through the rodeo circuit, Tory quickly learned of the dauntless resilience it takes to be successful in a high risk environment. Her music tells the story of the lessons she has learned in life, taking listeners on a sonically exhilarating journey of self discovery as she leans on her faith and follows the path she is meant to be on.
Tory knew she loved to sing and perform from an early age, but an apprehensiveness kept her from embracing the values ingrained in her. She will tell you herself how denying your heart leads to the lowest of lows, but it was a rock bottom she needed to hit to fully trust her God-given calling that transformed her dream into her purpose. This experience is chronicled in her February 2024 release, “I Met Me,” where she describes the freedom she found when she picked up a six-string, assembled a band, and worked tirelessly to perfect a stage presence that complimented her powerhouse vocals.
The passion that Tory carries is shown in her high energy performances, taking inspiration from the likes of Shania Twain and Lainey Wilson by using every inch of her stage. Tory is backed by an ensemble of enthralling musicians who share her spirit, bringing out the vivacity and potency of her daring lyrics while giving her audience an unforgettable experience.
After spending two years earning experience all over Oklahoma and Texas playing small venues, festivals, and even the Woodward Elks Rodeo, Tory enters 2024 with an abundance of singles set for release. “Reckless Angel” comes first, dripping with country twang and an attitude inspired by the women who came before her, introducing her wild side while showcasing her vocal range and acute sense of creating dramatic moments in a song. She sings, “you won’t see me coming like my name’s Jolene,” an appropriate lyric as she bursts into the year of new music, new shows, and new levels. “I Met Me” comes in as a heartwarming and inspiring ballad that tells the story of how she found her peace in performing, while the stomping “Pretty Little Outlaw” pays homage to the country legends that Tory grew up on, exploring her outlaw roots and love for the open road.
No telling of the current rise of Oklahoma country musicians is complete without the mention of Tory Rae. Bringing to the table an old school edge with a modern twist, Tory shines a light on the courageousness, persistence, and robustness of country-raised women. She hopes her story and her songs will inspire others to follow their dreams, regardless of what anyone thinks. “If you really believe in who you are and who you’re meant to be, you can do anything.” -Tory Rae
